Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after that period of that year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is really nice," said ranked player the champion.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on court had led observers to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an better service.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five points to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a decider.

The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
